Welcome to Flavor Flash Lab!

This blog is for those interested in living the anti-inflammatory lifestyle without losing the flavor!  Our family lives gluten free and focuses on learning how to eat/live to maximize our health and live a full life.  Auto-immune diseases run in our family, so we eat gluten free, follow an anti-inflammatory diet, and strive to create or find the best tasting foods available to us.

I chose the name flavor flash lab for my blog because I think of myself as a scientist, not only in my profession, but also in my home.  I constantly read and educate myself to learn about how I can help myself and my whole family to live healthy and happy.  I experiment with food and sometimes I hit a home run, while other times, it’s a total flop!

While my focus is on the food, I also think about other aspects of a healthy lifestyle, which includes exercise, stress reduction, self-image, and social connections with family and friends.

Who is this blog for?  Anyone interested in following us along on our journey to learn about food, flavor, and health!  If you or your family members are interested in promoting your health or if you suffer from auto-immune disease such as: celiac disease, gluten intolerance, hypothyroidism, Sjogren’s syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, or lupus, this blog is for you!

I am a forty-plus mom of three.  I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease and rheumatoid arthritis.  Despite these challenges, I am determined to live my best life possible, even better before my diagnoses.  Why?  Because I have been given a second chance to improve my health as well as that of my family.  Since my diagnosis and treatment for RA, I am feeling the best I have felt in over 10 years!  It wasn’t an easy process, I’ll admit, but the journey has been worth it.  I took these experiences as a teachable moment to open my eyes and recognize all the good things in my life.  I want to share what I have learned and I invite you along on our journey that will be filled with fun, success, failure, and most of all lots of learning!

Sincerely,

Pam Sinicrope, MPH, DrPH
